FvF Cooks - Milk Bread Recipe by Lola Giardino
Barcelona-based cook and graphic designer Lola Giardino shares the easy recipe for her famous milk bread with us.
Ingredients:
- 40 g yeast
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1-cup soy milk
- 3 tablespoons lukewarm water
- 500g flour
- 1⁄2 cup oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
Method:
- In a medium size bowl combine the yeast, sugar, lukewarm water and a handful ofthe flour. Let it activate.
- In a large bowl, combine the salt with the rest of the flour and shape the mix into acircle.
- Note: The yeast must not contact the salt.
- In the centre, add the milk and oil. Knead the mixture until you have a soft dough. Cover it and let rise in a warm place away from drafts until doubled.
- Roll the dough into small buns and place them in a baking sheet covered with a buttered parchment paper.
- Let the buns rise again. Bake in a 200oC oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the buns from the oven and brush them with water.
